Marc Almond is joined by his friend and record producer Tris Penna for a three part series about torch songs and torch song singers. In the first programme Marc explains what a torch song is and traces the origins of the classic torch singers, the divas who were associated with this style of song in the 1920s and 1930s. Marc and Tris celebrate the work of some of the great female torch singers of the 20th Century with tracks from Marlene Dietrich, Edif Piaf, Billie Holiday, Judy Garland and many more.
